North Texas Educator-In-Service-Day



This training session will be hosted on 12 June 2009 for IEEE members, teachers, and school administration officials who are interested in helping bring increased emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math into their local schools The session will provide professional development program training for local educators, and provide resources for educators across the spectrum of “reading, writing and arithmetic”.

The TISP is a proven program that will aid teachers by leveraging the existing engineering knowledge and skills in the country towards improving teachers’ knowledge of engineering concepts.

The overall goals of the North Texas Educator In-Service Day are:

  • Enhance the level of technological literacy of pre-university educators.
  • Encourage pre-university students to pursue technical careers, including engineering.
  • Increase the general level of technological literacy of pre-university students for many years.
  • Increase the level of understanding of the needs of educators among the engineering community

The event is primarily sponsored by the Fort Worth Chapter of IEEE and is being hosted by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Fort Worth.  Follow up contact will be via email, so please ensure your email address is accurate and current.  Photo ID will be required to enter the Lockheed Martin facility.
