Workshop Description:

This workshop will provide a full day of immersion into the world of IEEE 802® Standards and cover each of the working groups developing standards in both the wired and wireless areas.

Leaders from within the IEEE 802 Standards community will:

  • present an overview and scope of each IEEE 802 technical working group and how they relate or differ from each other;
  • focus on the functional capabilities and market relevance of the standards;
  • update attendees on the status of current and future projects within the IEEE 802 groups;
  • walk attendees through the standards development process;
  • include an important discussion on intellectual property issues;
  • conclude with a panel discussion on the Value of Standards;
  • provide for open question and answer periods throughout the day.
