GOLD Volunteer's Journey
|
Volunteers are an essential part of the IEEE organization. IEEE members who volunteer their skills and time take pride in knowing that they play an important role in IEEE. GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) is a program developed to help student members transition to young professionals. As GOLD is a growing program within IEEE, it is in need of dedicated volunteers. In 2007, GOLD introduced an ongoing program to identify suitable volunteers to serve at the higher levels (1) of the IEEE so that the organization can sustain the growth of its operations and provide continuous improvements to its products and services. Becoming an IEEE volunteer can be a gratifying and memorable experience. GOLD is looking for interested candidates with 3-4 years of experience at the grass-roots level (2) to submit their resumes. Whether your skills are suited for leading teams, problem solving, implementing ideas, organizing conferences, or editing newsletters, chances are your experience is needed. Please read the testimonies of some current GOLD volunteers to get a sense of what it is like to serve at a more intense pace and higher level. It is the hope of the IEEE that these testimonies will inspire you to volunteer through GOLD.
