IEEE Industry Applications Society Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student Design Awards



Description

 Recognizes three individual students or student teams and the students' associated electrical engineering department.


Prize

 Awards will be divided equally among team members:

1st award prize: $800 cash honorarium and certificates for students; $500 cash honorarium and certificate for students' academic department.

2nd award prize: $600 cash honorarium and certificates for students; $400 cash honorarium and certificate for students' academic department.

3rd award prize: $400 cash honorarium and certificates for students; $300 cash honorarium and certificate for students' academic department.

Travel reimbursement and other associated expenses are funded by the Myron Zucker Endowment and managed by the IEEE Foundation.


Eligibility

  1. Submission of project report.
  2. Nomination letter from a faculty member involved in the project.
  3. At least one student involved in the design project must be a member of the IEEE.
  4. Students must receive academic credit for the project work.
  5. The design project must fall within the scope of the Industry Applications Society.
  6. One or more undergraduate Electrical Engineering students (or the equivalent) involved in the design project.

Basis for Judging

  1. The extent to which the solution of the design problem demonstrates the practical application of engineering fundamentals and engineering judgment.
  2. The quality of the written report presentation.
  3. The extent to which an industrial entity, if any, provides appropriate guidance and access to an applications environment.
