IEEEXtreme 24 Hour Online Competition

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge for teams of student members, supported by an IEEE Student Branch or university.  Participating in IEEEXtreme gives students a unique and fun learning experience, while competing with teams of students from around the world in a global event.  

With nearly 700 teams from over 40 countries, IEEEXtreme 3.0 broke records for participation. Congratulations to the teams with university names and countries.  Available in a document of  top 25 teams. (PDF, 25KB).

The IEEEXtreme event took place on 24 October 2009 at 00:00:00 UTC.  What a great 24 hours it was, see the ranked  top 25 teams.  

Mark your calendars!  Teams compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.  

To give Student Branches a challenge to embrace students studying in engineering, computers, information science and technology - team work is an important skill to develop for career success.

To be successful:

  • Use the flyer (PDF, 229 KB) to promote the challenge.
  • Form teams to include no more than 3 IEEE Student members (Student members or Graduate Student members).
  • To provide Student Branches with an interesting and exciting activity.
  • To increase awareness of the IEEE activities and membership on campus.
