In October 1996, the IEEE Press Editorial Board
adopted the following mission statement:
"The IEEE Press publishes texts, references,
handbooks, and monographs to meet present and
future professional and educational needs of IEEE
members, potential members, and others in the
fields of interest to IEEE. Our mission is to
bring to our audience the best and most up-to-date
materials in the field, whether these are works
originated by the Press or published in
cooperation with another entity. By our emphasis
on consistent quality, the Press will strive to
attract the leading authors in the profession."
