IEEE staff can provide editorial, design, production, and manufacturing services for IEEE magazines, delivering content in electronic form for IEEE Xplore® as well as in print. In addition, IEEE manages print and distribution contracts for these titles. IEEE is committed to providing high-level professional editorial and design support to volunteers, authors, and subscribers. Proof of success in meeting this goal can be seen in the design and editorial awards received from publishing trade groups in the past two years.

To take advantage of online distribution systems, IEEE now offers support for publishing multi-media materials with magazine articles in the IEEE Xplore digital library. Articles may be published with animations, movies, data sets, sound files, and other forms of enhanced, multi-media content. Additionally, instead of waiting for an issue to be complete and ready for publication, individual articles will now be posted to IEEE Xplore as soon as they are approved by the author/editor-in-chief.
