How to Obtain Permission to Reuse IEEE-Copyrighted Material

The following is intended to provide you with information on how to obtain the permission necessary for you to republish or redistribute IEEE copyrighted material.

In requesting permission, please describe the material you are interested in using by providing the following information:

1. author name(s)
2. paper title and
3. IEEE publication title (i.e., journal, magazine or conference title).

Next, please describe how you would like to reuse the material (e.g., to be reprinted in a book or an upcoming issue of journal). Please include the publisher's name and the publication title.

Please be sure to indicate whether you would like to reuse all of or portions of or only figures/tables from the paper. With respect to portions or figures, please describe the specific material.

If you are facing a deadline, you should indicate by what date you will need to hear back from us.

Our letter in response will grant permission. In most cases, the only requirements will be to give full credit to the original source and to obtain the author's approval (as a courtesy to the author). In cases involving the republication or sale of the material, a fee may also be required.

Please do not hesitate to write or call if you should have questions on this or any other copyright related matters.
