Companion Tour Program
The February Meeting Series customized Companion Program takes full advantage of the local historical and cultural attractions, and was developed exclusively for the IEEE. We have planned an exciting and interesting itinerary, made up of some of San Juan's “must-do” activities. We hope you will join us as we explore what San Juan has to offer.

Companion Breakfast (incorporated with the IEEE Breakfast)
You will experience a drive through typical native towns going to El Yunque Rainforest. There you will see lush tropical vegetation, wild orchids, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods and waterfalls. You will stop at La Coca Falls for photo shoots then on to Yokahú Tower for a fantastic view of the North coastline. There also will be a twenty minute guided walk on Caimitillo trail through the forest to view firsthand the flora & fauna in this natural wonder. After your visit to the Rainforest there will be a stop at local fruit stand to purchase fresh fruits and beverages before your return trip to the hotel.
The price includes admission, roundtrip transfer, a guided tour, and all gratuities. Lunch will be provided prior at the Condado Plaza Hotel upon return to the hotel

Postcard from the Caribbean - Outdoor Painting Session - Cancelled Imagine sitting under a palm tree sipping a piña colada and ready to paint your very own postcard of the scene surrounding you. You have everything you need, including one of the leading watercolorists in the Caribbean to guide you. The only other thing required is inspiration that surely the beauty of Puerto Rico will provide. This project is a few hours of creative fun that allows you to take home a true treasure, not found but CREATED in the Caribbean! Participants will meet in a designated area to pick up their painting materials. At this time the artist will spend about a half hour going over some basics of painting with watercolor. When she is finished the group is free to get comfortable and paint whatever they desire. The artist will move around from student to student, making herself available for individual demonstrations, advice and encouragement. The price includes painting materials and all gratuities.

Trip leaves from Villa Marina in Fajardo at 10:00am. You will enjoy a 30-minute sail to Icacos or one of the surrounding islands. Once the catamaran arrives at the island it actually beaches so that when you disembark you are in knee-deep water. On the island you will have the opportunity to take advantage of professional instruction in snorkeling, you can beach comb, swim or snorkel offshore or just relax on the beach. You will be able to enjoy a scrumptious picnic lunch prepared and served on board by the crew. Lunch consists of “build your own” sandwiches with a variety of meats and cheeses, condiments, French bread, pasta and green salad, tropical fruits and assorted cookies, refreshments, piña coladas, rum punch and beer. After lunch our boat leaves the island and anchors 200 yards offshore over a living coral reef. Here your will have the opportunity to snorkel over the reef and view numerous tropical fish and coral formations. After a full day they hoist their sail for the return trip back to the dock returning at approximately 3:30pm. The price includes admission, round trip transfer, beverages, lunch, snorkel equipment and all gratuities.
