Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour - CANCELLED

The Statue of Liberty is one of New York’s most famous attractions.  People from all over the world have come to see her, the very symbol of what America is all about.  The statue was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal representation of freedom and democracy.

A small museum in the pedestal includes exhibits on immigration that recall through words, objects, and photographs the arrival of millions of new Americans. An exhibit on the Statue explains how it was conceived and constructed. The new Torch Exhibit includes the original 1886 torch and a display on the history or the torch and the flame.

Attendees will also have a chance to visit Ellis Island. Opened on January 1, 1892, Ellis Island became the nation's premier federal immigration station. In operation until 1954, the station processed over 12 million immigrant steamship passengers. The main building was restored after 30 years of abandonment and opened as a museum in 1990.  Today, over 40 percent of America's population can trace their ancestry through Ellis Island.

Participants will receive a guided tour of the highlights of Ellis Island.  At the Statue of Liberty, participants will be free to explore as they wish.  Please note that participants will not be permitted to enter the Statue of Liberty, but you will be provided with brochures detailing all information.

The price includes admission, transportation, a guided tour, and all gratuities.  A box lunch will be provided prior to departure from the hotel.
