Darrel Sau-Foong Chong Member Singapore, Singapore
Darrel Sau-Foong Chong graduated with an Electrical & Computer Engineering Degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2003. Prior to that, he served at the Singapore Armed Force (SAF) for 2.5 years as an instructor in the Armor Infantry Regiment.
He is presently pursing a Ph.D with Design Technology Institute (DTI); a joint collaboration between NUS and TUe from the Netherlands. His research field is in the area of Engineering Management and Organizational Behavior. He is studying how increasing time pressure impacts new product development team performance.
One major project in IEEE was spearheading the 1st Region 10 Student Congress in Singapore, 2002. After which, he continued his volunteer duties as the R10 student representative. His hobbies include playing the guitar and reading.
When asked why he joined the IEEE, he replied " Being a student leader for the past 5 years proves that IEEE is truly an international organization. Its most valuable assets-infrastructure and volunteers - have impacted many lives in the community. I am one who has grown from it and I will remain to give back to the institute and its people."
