Power Globe is an Internet e-mail forum for individuals with an interest in electric power engineering. It uses an open-subscription list server��subscribers can add or remove themselves from the list and can control their subscription options. Once subscribed, a person can send e-mail to the list where it will be forwarded to all other subscribers. There are presently more than 1650 subscribers worldwide, with 2 to 5 messages being distributed on an average day. Power Globe is operated by volunteers from the academic community under the sponsorship of the IEEE and the IEEE Power Engineering Society.
