Through its publications, IEEE enables innovation and the evolution of existing technologies. Readers will find the origin of a technology in a conference paper, see it mature in a journal article, get an overview of it in our magazine articles or books, and find the industry standards necessary for implementation. Over 130 periodicals and 800 conferences let authors choose the best forum for their work.

IEEE is by far the most-cited publisher in new patents, according to recent studies by 1790 Analytics LLC. IEEE journals and conference proceedings received more than 96,000 patent citations - more than 4 times the number of citations of any other publisher.

IEEE Publishing connects brilliant minds like yours with other leading voices in technology specialties. Peer review, CrossRef and other tools help manage your workflow and make it easy to collaborate, reference, and deliver your writing to readers and researchers.

Peer Review

The peer review process is designed to enhance the quality of every article submitted to and published by IEEE.

The peer review process benefits the author, editor, and the reader. Journal, magazine, and conference papers undergo a thorough peer review process before acceptance for publication or presentation, ensuring only the highest quality information is published or presented at conferences. All IEEE books are peer-reviewed prior to publication as well. The author benefits from the feedback received, while the peer reviewer is able to further develop his or her own skills. The reader or conference attendee is assured the research published is strong and credible.

CrossRef

crossref

As a member of CrossRef, the IEEE is proud to include outbound reference links to other publisher content registered in the CrossRef system. CrossRef links appear in IEEE journal and magazine article reference lists in AbstractPlus records. Selecting the CrossRef link directs you to the publisher's destination Web address via a unique and persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Access to content in the destination publisher's site depends on your subscription rights.

IEEE also participates in the CrossRef Search Pilot with other leading publishers. Google has indexed the full text of scholarly documents on the publishers' websites through a CrossRef gateway. This effort focuses users’ searches and reduces the noise produced by general web searches. Access to articles is determined by each publisher and your institution's subscriptions.

Indexed by Google

IEEE Xplore is indexed by Google™ allowing Google search results to include links to IEEE Xplore. Abstract records typically contain the document's citation and abstract summary. Guests may browse tables of contents or conduct a Basic Search of all brief Abstracts to locate and purchase documents of interest. IEEE Members and users at subscribing institutions have access to complete AbstractPlus records, all search functions, and subscribed full text.
