Larry K. Wilson award for 2008 announced

Mounira Maazaoui, The IEEE ENIT SB's Chair has just been selected for the Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award for the year 2008. Results have been announced during the IEEE Region 8 Student Branch and GOLD Congress in London, UK (August 28th to October 1st 2008)

The Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award is a regional recognition (Region 8 ) of IEEE for a Student Member who has significantly contributed to IEEE student activities.

Announcing IEEE Turkey Student Branch and Gold Congress
 
-IEEE Turkey Section is proud to announce the 6th IEEE Turkey Student Branch and Gold Congress to be held between 22-26 August 2008 in Adana Turkey. The student members and GOLD members from more than 40 active IEEE student branches in Turkey will come together to create new solutions and new projects, to come up with new social and technical activities as well as to get to know each other more and have fun.

We will be happy to be your host in Adana Turkey if you would like to join us.
The participation fee is 65 Euros. We might be able to fund the expenses in Adana for a couple of IEEE student members.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc) is a non-profit organization formed to bring the professionals together in one platform for the advancement of technology. Through its global membership, IEEE is a leading authority on areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics among others.

If you are a budding developer, electronics engineer, an ambitious researcher or an IT journalist and can get to London quickly then you're in luck - the London IEEE Career Horizons has now been confirmed, with a list of exhibitors and a location all finalised.

The event will be attended by professionals from the industry, senior academics from the reputable universities, recent graduates and students from all over the UK.

Exhibitor stands and speaker sessions are also planned. There will be training sessions on interviewing skills, CV writing and Global Career Strategies (Realities, Trends and Tips for Finding a Job Overseas).

Student Website Contest 2008 incredibly successful
Now that registration is closed for the IEEE Student Website Contest 2008, it is time for a first update.

This edition is incredibly successful, as 39 student branches have registered. This is, compared to the last edition in 2007, an increase of 70% !
