IEEE Awards
The IEEE Awards program honors distinguished technical professionals from a wide variety of disciplines whose exceptional achievements in industry, research, service, and education have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and the engineering profession. Each award has a unique mission and criteria and offers the opportunity to honor distinguished colleagues, inspiring teachers, and corporate leaders. These are the highest awards presented by IEEE. Annually, the IEEE Medal recipients are recognized at the IEEE Honors Ceremony. Stop by our booth to learn more about nominating a colleague for one of these prestigious awards.

IEEE Book and Information Services

  • IEEE eBook Classics:  IEEE members now have access to more than 260 eBooks from the IEEE Press collection through IEEE Xplore®. The eBook collection spans a number of today's technologies across 15 different content areas, and includes practical handbooks, introductory and advanced texts, reference works, and professional books.  This collection of eBooks is offered to members at no additional cost. Newer eBooks will be added every year.
  • IEEE eXpress Conference Publishing:  Organizing a conference is a lot of work, and publishing your IEEE conference proceedings is a challenge all its own. But don't worry — the conference publishing experts of IEEE eXpress are here to help. The IEEE eXpress team is comprised of dedicated professionals with extensive conference publishing and project management experience. With the premium, fee-based Conference eXpress service, we ensure that your conference proceedings satisfies the publication needs of organizers and authors while complying with IEEE's acquisition requirements and the technical specifications of IEEE Xplore®.
  • The IEEE Intellectual Property Rights Office staff protects IEEE’s intellectual property, one of the most valuable assets of the IEEE, by working with outside legal counsel on interpretation and application of intellectual property law and advising senior volunteers on policy.  Staff also develops and implements enhanced services for publications volunteers who will benefit from a combination of cutting-edge tools and specialized IPR staff support.  

IEEE Branding
The IEEE brand is reflected in almost everything we do -- whether it's a web presence, printed materials, or simply speaking about your experience with the organization. IEEE Conference Publishing Services (CPS)
The IEEE Computer Society's Conference Publishing Services (CPS) produces high-quality, peer-reviewed conference publications in print, digital, and online products. Our mission is to utilize the CPS staff’s 60+ years of aggregated experience to make the publishing process as simple and pain-free as possible for conferences at a reasonable cost.

IEEE Contact Center
Building relationships with our members and customers is the core purpose of the global IEEE Contact Center.  Developing those relationships to form professional homes at IEEE is at the center of everything we do. Stop by the Contact Center booth to experience the evolution of the Contact Center to a global point of contact for all members, worldwide.

IEEE Corporate Compliance & Tax
The IEEE Corporate Compliance and Tax Management staff aims to support the ethical standards of IEEE. In support of the vision and mission of IEEE, Corporate Compliance and Tax Management is committed to ensuring compliance worldwide with all applicable regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements; and to minimize tax liability with absolute integrity. Stop by our both to receive information about what the department has to offer to support Section activities.

IEEE Corporate Strategy & Communications
IEEE Corporate Strategy and Communications includes three areas --  corporate communications, the corporate web team, and strategic research and planning. Together they work to strengthen , protect, and leverage the IEEE reputation via a variety of projects involving top volunteer leaders, members, and staff across the organization. Come visit our booth to learn about current projects that are helping to shape the strategic direction of IEEE.

IEEE Educational Activities
Whether you're a working technology professional, professor, teacher or student, IEEE Educational Activities offers you an extraordinary wealth of learning resources. From technical and soft skills training, to lesson plans, standards education, awards, and resources for pre-university and university education, you'll find what you need to achieve.

Engineering for Change (E4C)
Engineering for Change (E4C) is a dynamic and growing community of engineers, technology professionals, designers, scientists, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local community advocates who, working together, design, apply, and share innovative and sustainable technical solutions to a broad range of humanitarian challenges in local communities around the world.  E4C is an innovative and unique partnership that has brought together two leading engineering societies, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and IEEE, and a leading non-profit, Engineers Without Borders-USA.  The E4C alliance represents over 500,000 engineers and technical professionals from over 160 countries.

IEEE Fellows Activities
The IEEE grade of Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members. This prestigious grade is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a member with outstanding accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. Stop by the Fellow Activities booth to learn how to become or nominate someone to become an IEEE Fellow.

IEEE First Year Experience
The first year member experience incorporates communications and tactics, in place, that our first year member receives and/or participates in during their first year of membership. The primary goal is to engage new members, from the time they join, and positively impact their decision to renew for the following year. Visit our booth to learn about how your Section ranks in first year member retention and the many tools and resources available to help welcome new members. You can also visit the Welcome to IEEE Web page for new members for more information.

IEEE Foundation
The IEEE Foundation provides philanthropic services in support of the IEEE core purpose to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Visit our booth where we will be discussing how the IEEE Foundation can help your Section achieve its goals. Learn how to apply for a grant, establish a fund, make a donation, leave a bequest, and support projects that advance technology for humanity. You may also attend our breakout session either Saturday or Sunday. 

IEEE Future Directions

The mission of IEEE Future Directions is to foster technological innovation for the benefit of humanity by exploring new and existing technologies through:   

  • Incubation of emerging and new technology applications;
  • Identifying opportunities to engage the engineering community and the general public;
  • Serving as a catalyst for new conferences, publications, standards, educational products, forums, white papers, and projects that develop new technologies.

Projects include:

  • Smart Grid, the vision of a modernized electrical delivery system.  The IEEE Smart Grid Web Portal is the stepping off point to knowledge and understanding of IEEE's efforts to help realize the vision of a more efficient, secure, and reliable electrical delivery system for anyone involved in Smart Grid, whatever their industry or technical discipline.   • Cloud Computing is the latest IEEE Future Directions new initiative (CCI). Visit our booth to learn more about how the CCI is positioning itself across Technical Activities, the Regions, and Standards. As part of a Sections Congress challenge, the CCI team is soliciting Section submissions for a CCI brand that can be used in IEEE cloud computing conferences, publications, standards, educational, and regional activities.   • The Electric Vehicles Steering Committee has the charter to establish IEEE as the leading organization for Electric Vehicles (EV) technology and infrastructure. We have installed a collaborative cross-organizational model including organizational units, Societies, and Regions to provide conferences, publications, standards, and increase public visibility. Learn more about our first EV event, 4-8 March 2012, in Greenville, South Carolina, USA. 
  • The IEEE Technology Navigator (Technav) provides a single platform for entry into many of IEEE’s technology resources: educational activities, publications, conferences, standards, and Xplore.  Please take Technav for a test drive and stop by the booth to learn about how your Section may participate in the Technav grand challenge.

Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) is the premiere international engineering and scientific community representing dynamic and innovative young professionals. Its mission is to inspire, energize, engage, and empower young professionals by providing a global professional home enriched by a variety of learning, networking, and volunteer leadership opportunities. Stop by our booth to learn more about GOLD's working groups, publications, webinar series, STEP programs, membership development projects, mentoring, and humanitarian initiatives. IEEE History Center
The IEEE History Center, under the guidance of the IEEE History Committee, promotes the preservation and dissemination of information about the proud heritage of IEEE, its members, their professions, and related technologies. The information is delivered to the public via the IEEE Global History Network web site, a wiki-based site where IEEE members can directly participate in historical preservation.  Visit our booth or attend our Sunday breakout section to learn how your Section and its members can preserve Section history and archives, record first-hand tales of technological innovation, or nominate an IEEE Milestone.  We will also be participating in the two IEEE Foundation breakout sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) IEEE's First Engineering Student Honor Society. IEEE-HKN recognizes excellence among peers. It is an honor society that invites students to become members based on academic excellence for classes taken within the disciplines for which it provides recognition. Membership in IEEE-HKN recognizes a student's academic achievement, as well as their potential as a leader, both in school and in their professional careers. Visit our IEEE-HKN exhibit booth and attend our breakout session on Sunday to learn how to establish an IEEE-HKN Chapter on your campus.

IEEE-ISTO is the premier trusted partner of the global technology community for the development, adoption, and certification of industry standards.  A federation of member programs, its mission is to facilitate the life-cycle of industry standards development through a dedicated staff committed to offering vendor neutrality, quality support, and member satisfaction.

IEEE Life Members Activities
IEEE Life members represent an invaluable repository of personal experiences involving the history of areas of interest to IEEE.  The IEEE Life Members Committee believes that keeping Life members active and engaged is a key component of the success of IEEE in local IEEE activities. Come visit our booth to learn how having a Life Members Affinity Group in your Section can help keep your members engaged.

IEEE Life Sciences
To promote its technical leadership in engineering and the life sciences, IEEE launched the Life Sciences Portal. IEEE Marketing Communications
IEEE Marketing Communications seeks to raise the visibility and brand recognition of IEEE through public relations, media and exhibition activities; positioning IEEE as a thought leader on prominent issues globally.

IEEE Meetings & Conferences
The IEEE Meetings & Conferences organization is a one stop resource for volunteers organizing a conference or meeting on behalf of IEEE and offers supports to all organizational units.  This group is comprised of three primary services in the areas of conference business services, conference intellectual property, and optional event management services.   We welcome you at our booth to learn more about support available to meet your needs.

IEEE Membership Development
IEEE Membership Development activities involve the recruitment, retention, and recovery of present, former, and future IEEE members.  The MGA Member Recruitment and Recovery (MRR) Committee is led by volunteers with passion and energy to keep our membership growing, strong, and engaged.  Visit our MD Exhibit at Sections Congress 2011 and talk to volunteers and staff about how to keep your IEEE geographic or technical unit members engaged and growing.

IEEE MGA Electronic Services
Running an IEEE Section, Chapter, or Affinity Group can be a time consuming task. MGA Electronic Services simplify administration by offering web-based software, reduce time spent managing activities, and assist in member development. Find out how vTools, eNotice, SAMIEEE, entity web hosting (EWH), and other services can facilitate meetings with registrations and payments, L31 meeting reporting, elections, web presence, surveys, web conferencing, e-mailing members, detailed member data reports, and more.

Proceedings of IEEE
We are previewing the Centennial Celebration of the Proceedings of the IEEE at Sections Congress. This journal has many exciting events planned as we publish our 100th Volume in 2012. These include a unique Retrospective Centennial Issue, with predictive papers, to be published 15 May, as well as 12 regular monthly issues, each with special anniversary content. Next year, we will also be asking all to participate by submitting their own ideas for future innovations and inventions. View the web page for more information and a selection of classic papers.

IEEE Procurement
The IEEE Merchandise Collection moves to a new format.  The new site will provide over 2,400 different merchandise choices. This will address the need for a wider variety of items. The new site will also enable individuals to see the item with the IEEE logo and choice of color before actually purchasing the item. It will also specifically let users know which items will be available for single orders vs. those that must be ordered in larger quantities. So if you require something for a meeting, conference, or for yourself, be sure to check it out.

IEEE Standards Association
The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA), a globally recognized standards-setting body within IEEE, develops consensus standards.  Standards are integral to the mission of IEEE. They are the vehicle through which we can advance technology to the marketplace, for the significant benefit of humanity. Come visit our booth to learn more about the Standards Association and how you could become a driving force to shape the future of technology.

IEEE Students
IEEE Student Activities mission is "To deliver a common, high quality IEEE Student member experience globally, for lifelong, professional success through IEEE membership."  By organizing global student competitions and contests, students have the opportunity to grow and develop professional, technical, and communication skills.  There are IEEE Student Branches established at nearly 2,000 universities and colleges around the world.  IEEE Student Activities volunteers, at the MGA, Region, and Section levels are the key to promoting IEEE programs and member benefits to students.   Come visit our booth to learn more about fun and interesting IEEE student activities and engaging students.

IEEE Technical Activities
Join IEEE Technical Activities in our Society / Technical Council Lounge. Here, you can informally find out more about the Societies and Technical Councils and arrange to sit down and talk with volunteers from all parts of IEEE. These informal lounge discussions may focus on forming a new Chapter, joint activities between organizational units, or collaboration on an IEEE event or service.

IEEE Treasury Department
The IEEE Concentration Banking (CB) Program offers all geographic units, conferences, and standards developing committees a bank account with unlimited check writing privileges.  You can make deposits, write checks, and earn interest on the daily ending balance for the benefit of your IEEE unit or group.  A CB Card is also available to make payments using a credit card that are deducted from your account balance. The type of IEEE Concentration Banking account you have will be determined by the location of your IEEE operating unit. Come visit our booth to learn what type of account is appropriate for your unit.

IEEE-USA promotes professional growth, career advancement, and public policies that benefit, but are not limited to, U.S. IEEE members. Career resources are delivered through seminars, workshops, Webinars, e-books, the Career Navigator Web site, and the IEEE-USA Salary Calculator. Employment assistance and business services are also offered.

IEEE Women in Engineering
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. Goals include facilitating the development of programs and activities that promote the entry into and retention of women in technical disciplines globally.

IEEE Xplore® digital library
IEEE Xplore® is the digital library providing full text access to the world’s highest quality technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, and related disciplines. IEEE Xplore® contains documents from IEEE journals, transactions, magazines, letters, conference proceedings, standards, the IEEE-Wiley eBooks Library, and a series of online learning short courses as well as IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) publications, select AIP/AVS (American Institute of Physics / American Vacuum Society) journals, and the IBM Journal of Research and Development, which now includes the IBM Systems Journal.
