IEEE Annual Election Voting Eligibility

Election Category Voting Eligibility Requirements
IEEE President-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE vote for IEEE President-Elect.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:   Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
Division Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE who are also members of a society belonging to the Division category on the ballot may vote for that Division.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:  Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
Region Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE vote for the Region Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect of the Region where he/she resides.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:   Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
Standards Association President-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE who are also Standards Association individual members can vote for Standards Association President-Elect.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:  Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
Standards Association Board of Govenors Member-at-Large IEEE-SA Individual Members who are also IEEE members: IEEE-SA corporate members who are also IEEE-SA individual members (on record as of 30 June) may vote for the IEEE-SA President-Elect as well as the IEEE-SA Board of Governors Member-at-Large.  No IEEE membership grade requirement.

IEEE-SA Corporate Members (Non-Individual members, non-IEEE members): Corporate members of the IEEE-SA (on record as of 30 June) are only eligible to vote for the IEEE-SA Board of Governors Member-at-Large.  As a corporate member representative for more than one corporate member entity, the individual will receive a separate ballot for each corporate entity for which he/she is the key contact.
Technical Activities Vice President-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE who are also voting members of a technical Society may vote for Technical Activities Vice President-Elect.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:  Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
IEEE-USA President-Elect Only voting members of the IEEE who reside in Regions 1-6 may vote for IEEE-USA President-Elect.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:  Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.
IEEE-USA Member-at-Large Only voting members of the IEEE who reside in Regions 1-6 may vote for IEEE-USA President-Elect.

Member who is on record as of 30 June in the following grade categories are eligible to vote:  Member, Life Member, Senior Member, Life Senior Member, Fellow, Life Fellow, Honorary Member, and Graduate Student Member.

The election categories on the annual election ballot reflect what the voting member is eligible to vote for. The absence of a category for Region Delegate/Director or Division Delegate/Director on your ballot indicates that no election is being conducted in the organizational unit(s).


Region Elections

The world is divided into ten IEEE Regions, each represented on the IEEE Board of Directors by a Region Delegate/Director who serves a two‑year term.  The Region Delegate/Director (or Region Delegate-Elect/Director‑Elect) is elected by the voting members of the Region from a slate nominated by the Regional Committee.  The Region territories described on-line at www.ieee.org/elections/region are not necessarily confined to a State or Country boundaries.  When such boundaries are crossed, the State or Country is listed under the Region that contains most of its area.  IEEE eligible voting members are entitled to vote for the Region Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect where they reside.


Technical Division Elections

The IEEE Societies are clustered within ten Technical Divisions, each represented on the IEEE Board of Directors by a Division Delegate/Director who serves a two‑year term.  The Division Delegate/Director (or Division Delegate-Elect/Director‑Elect) is elected by the voting members of the Division from a slate nominated by the Divisional Committee.  Technical Societies by Division are listed on-line at www.ieee.org/elections/division.IEEE Members must be voting members of a technical Society to entitle vote for the IEEE Technical Activities Vice President-Elect. 


Standards Association Elections

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) has the responsibility to pursue programs on an Institute-wide basis that enhances globalization of IEEE standards.  Only voting members of the IEEE who are also Standards Association individual members can vote for the Standards Association President-Elect.  Corporate members are not eligible to vote for Standards Association President-Elect.  All individual members of the Standards Association are eligible to vote for the Standards Association Board of Governors Members-at-Large.  All corporate members of the Standards Association, via their respective representatives, are eligible to vote for the Standards Association Board of Governors Members-at-Large.  No member grade required to vote for Standards Association Board of Governors Members-at-Large.


Technical Activities Elections

The IEEE Technical Activities Board serves the technical interests of the members worldwide.  IEEE eligible voting members who are also members of at least one technical Society are entitled to vote for Technical Activities Vice President-Elect.  


IEEE United States of America Election

The IEEE United States of America (IEEE-USA) serves the professional interests of the members of the United States.  IEEE eligible voting Members residing in Regions 1-6 are entitled to vote for IEEE-USA President-Elect and IEEE-USA Member-at-Large.
