When will I receive my ballot?

IEEE Annual Election ballots will be mailed to all eligible voting members on record as of 30 June 2007.  The ballot packages will be mailed via first class mail on or before 1 September 2007 via first class mail.  All eligible voting members will also have electronic access to the ballot materials at https://www.directvote.net/ieee/.

How do I access my ballot electronically?

Eligible voting members may access his/her ballot electronically at https://www.directvote.net/ieee/. To authenticate access, please have your IEEE Web Account username and password or the election vendor assigned Control Number and eSignature readily available located on the paper ballot.

What is the deadline for ballot receipt?

All ballots for the 2007 IEEE Annual Election must be received by the election vendor by 1 November 2007 at 12:00 noon Central Time USA (17:00 GMT) to be counted.  Ballot materials can also be accessed electronically at https://www.directvote.net/ieee/.

How do I find out what I am eligible to vote for?

The election categories on the annual election ballot reflect what the voting member is eligible to vote for on record as of 30 June 2007.  The absence of a cetagory for Region Delegate/Director or Division Delegate/Director on your ballot indicates that no election is being conducted in the organizational unit(s).   More on voting eligibility

I have already mailed in my ballot. Am I supposed to return it electronically?

If you have mailed in your paper ballot and it was received by the election vendor, you will not be able to vote again.

I have not received my ballot package in the mail yet.  How do I request one?

All eligible voting members were mailed an election ballot material package.  If you have not received yours, please contact corp-election@ieee.org for a replacement package.

Some of my colleagues who are students received a ballot package in the mail but I did not receive one.  Why?

Starting with the 2006 IEEE Annual Election, student members that meet the requirements for Member grade but are still students are considered Graduate Student Members (GSM).  Students holding the GSM grade are eligible to vote in the IEEE Annual Election.

Who qualifies to hold the Graduate Student Member grade?

A Graduate Student Member (GSM) must qualify for Member grade and carry at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program as a registered graduate student in a regular course of study in IEEE-designated fields.  The total cumulative period for a member to hold the Student Member grade and/or the Graduate Student Member grade is limited to 8 years.  GSMs, upon graduation or upon reaching the total cumulative 8-year limit as a Student Member and/or GSM (whichever occurs first), is transferred to Member grade.   More on IEEE membership grades

Can I change my Web Account information?

Yes. You can change your Password, Security Identifier and e-mail address.  Your unique Username, however, is permanent.

Can I use multiple Web Accounts?

IEEE Members, IEEE Society Members, and IEEE SA-members can have only one account because IEEE Web Accounts are linked to a unique IEEE member number.

How do I register for an IEEE Web Account?
