IEEE Accomplishments – During more than twenty-five years of service to Region 1, I have held leadership roles in student activities, and conferences, coordinated the Region’s chapter growth, Sections Congress participation, and created its website.

My reputation as a hands-on leader doing projects rather than merely talking about ideas is demonstrated by creating and chairing the Long Island Systems, Applications, and Technology (LISAT) Conference (2005-2007), the Region 1 Area B PACE Workshop (2002) and Engineering Management Society Region 1 Chapter Chairs Workshop (2001). I also developed and delivered dozens of Leadership Skills Workshops, HTML and e-Commerce tutorials, and other presentations.

My accomplishments have not been confined to service within our Region. I have had the privilege of being a member on several of IEEE major boards including IEEE-USA, Technical Activities (TAB), Publication Services & Products Board (PSPB), and Engineering Management Society. At the committee level I have worked with the PACE, Student Activities, GOLD, Transnational, and Student-Professional Awareness Conference committees furthering their goals and bringing opportunities to further our member’s career and professional needs as a result.
A member of the New York Section and its Executive Committee, perhaps my favorite accomplishment is becoming a mentor to the Long Island Section ExCom.

Statement – I continue to mentor other volunteers and to work towards creatively enhancing programs that serve you, the member and our profession. I am honored to have been recognized for my activities having received the Robert S. Walleigh Distinguished Contributions to Engineering Professionalism Award, IEEE-USA Citation of Honor, Third Millennium Medal, Regional Activities Board Innovation Award, and IEEE Centennial Outstanding Young Engineer Award. These awards have recognized not only the results of good volunteer leadership, but also the ability to motivate and empower up and coming leaders and volunteers while providing service to the IEEE.
