The IEEE has a “No Returns” policy. However, the IEEE will gladly replace damaged or missing publications.

Print on Demand order fulfillment means constant availability

The IEEE has entered into an agreement with Moore Wallace, Inc., a division of R.R. Donnelly, to provide all customers with Print-on-Demand (POD) product fulfillment on orders for most IEEE Standards and Conference Proceedings.

POD order fulfillment assures customers constant product availability, professional quality formats, and the same responsive service you've come to expect from the IEEE.

The new fulfillment operation necessitates some changes to IEEE policy:

  • Effective 13 February 2006, the IEEE can no longer accept returns for credit on IEEE Standards or IEEE Conference Proceedings.
  • Returns for Conference Proceedings purchases made before 13 February 2006 will be honored by IEEE providing the product is returned in good condition, is still in print, and is returned within 18 months of the IEEE invoice date.
  • Standards are non-refundable.
  • The IEEE will continue to honor claims for defective titles, replacing the original at no cost to customers.

In addition, due to the nature of POD, rush orders for IEEE Standards require 24 hours to produce. Rush orders for Conference Proceedings will require 48 hours to produce in advance of shipment.

All returns must be forwarded to:
