generous loan of artifacts from
Charlie Hummel, Charles Edison
Fund, the IEEE Operations
Center now has a beautiful
Edison Exhibit, which is being
enjoyed by volunteers and
staff alike!
The IEEE
Engineering in Medicine and
Biology celebrated its 50th
anniversary in 2002. The
following exhibit was
mounted in Piscataway to
recognize this achievement.

Communications Society
celebrated its
50th anniversary in
2002. The following exhibit
was mounted in Piscataway to
recognize this achievement.
An Exhibit on
the IEEE Awards Program was
mounted in June 2001. The
IEEE Honors Ceremony was held at
the Liberty Science Center, New
Jersey, for the first time, in
June 2001.
An Exhibit on
Edison: The Menlo Park Wizard
was constructed by the History
Center at the Operations
Center. This exhibit
contained history on the Stock
Ticker, Light Bulb, Phonograph
and Dynamo. It also
contained information on the
Electric Pencil and the Edison
VoiceWriter.
The Broadcast
Technology Society celebrated
its 50th anniversary in
1999. This exhibit featured
a broadcast microphone, an "on
the air" sign,
historical photographs of a
broadcast station and early
television.
The Signal
Processing Society
celebrated its 50th anniversary
in 1998. Featured in this
exhibit were a cell phone,
a signal generator, an
Audion, transaction
telephone, digital voice
announcer, fax machine,
pagers: 1957 pager, 1993 pager,
and a tapeless answering machine
