Revised IEEE Copyright Form Includes New Consent and Release Agreement for Conference Authors’ Presentations 9 April – The IEEE Copyright Form has been updated to incorporate a new “Consent and Release” section. The new form will allow authors to transfer copyright to their technical papers and, at the same time, license to IEEE the audio/video rights to their conference presentations using a single form, under one signature. These recent revisions to the IEEE Copyright Form are in direct response to the Presentations Online program currently being deployed at several major IEEE conferences. This is a change from the previous IEEE Copyright Form which transferred copyright to the authors’ conference presentation material, along with copyright to the full text of their papers. The new Form now allows authors to grant IEEE only a nonexclusive license to make and distribute audio/video recordings of their conference presentations. In addition, there is important opt-out language and a check box included on the Form that will provide authors with the opportunity to decline granting this option. The IEEE Copyright and Consent Form can be found on the IPR Office Web site. |
