Dr. Bin He

Dr. Bin He
President, IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBS) for 2009-2010

Dr. Bin He, an IEEE Fellow, is a professor of biomedical engineering, electrical engineering and neuroscience at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. He is the director of Biomedical Functional Imaging and Neuroengineering Laboratory, Founding director of the Center for Neuroengineering, and director of NIH Training Program on Neuroimaging at the University of Minnesota. Dr. He has pioneered the development of novel methods and techniques for bioelectromagnetic source imaging and neuroengineering.

In addition to being an IEEE Fellow, Dr. He is the President-Elect of the  IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) for 2008 and President of IEEE-EMBS for 2009. Dr. He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering and the IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering. He is also a fellow to the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

Dr. He’s work has been supported by a number of grants from the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the American Heart Association Established Investigator Award, the University of Illinois University Scholar Award and a past recipient of the Tejima Prize.
