9.20 Standard Date Formats
The standard date formats should be used as
follows on all IEEE related activities:
- e-mail: DD MMM YYYY (e.g., 10 Jun 2020)
- formal correspondence, etc.: DD Month
YYYY (e.g., 10 June 2020)
- computer applications: YYYY-MM-DD
(e.g., 2020=06-10), another choice is the
"short form," which appears as: YY-MM-DD
or 20-06-10. However, the long form
should be used whenever possible as it sorts
better than the short form.
