Teacher In-Service Program -- The Presentation

Printable Format
Printer Friendly

In developing the presentation for educators it is strongly recommended that a hands-on segment(s) be included. Increasingly school districts are requiring an application of knowledge learned portion in all in-service programs to qualify for in-service points. This is an opportunity for small group work to be included in the program. Groups of 2-4 attendees working on a practical aspect of the presentation is strongly encouraged. Handouts and take-away supplies/models/materials are very important to educators. A PowerPoint presentation or the use of overhead slides are both acceptable.

The following is a suggested presentation outline based on a four-hour timeframe:

  • Introduction/background (15 minutes)

  • Share the objectives for the presentation (5 minutes)

  • Include connections to educational standards (10 minutes)

  • Discussion/presentation of concepts (30 minutes)
