IEEE hosted it's Fourth Technical English Program, 2-4 October 2009, St. Petersburg, Russia.

The Technical English Program held in October, 2009 marked the start of a new phase for this IEEE initiative. More than 20 department chairs, program directors and faculty from institutions in IEEE Region 8 joined nearly 40 St. Petersburg students to participate in a day of intensive and interactive activities designed to provide students with opportunities to apply their Technical English abilities to a variety of engineering problems. The Region 8 members also participated in separate sessions with IEEE volunteers and staff which examined the structure and operations of the St. Petersburg program, and explored methods and resources available to launch similar projects at other institutions in the IEEE sections.
