The IEEE is divided into ten geographic regions worldwide. Within those regions are 330 local Sections and 1,788 technical Chapters that unite local members with similar technical interests.

News

As per the IEEE Board of Directors a name change for IEEE Regional Activities has been approved.  All previous reference to IEEE Regional Activities should now be referenced as IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA).

For more information on the changes, read "More Than Just a Name Change" in the December issue of "The Institute".

IEEE Sections

Members of the IEEE automatically become members of their local IEEE Section, allowing them to share technical, professional and personal interests with others in IEEE's worldwide member community. For tools and resources to assist with your section, visit Geographic Unit Operation Support.

Wherever you live, there's a good chance there is an IEEE meeting near you. Select your geographic region from the list below or from the main navigational menu.

Northeastern U.S. (Region 1) Western U.S. (Region 6)
Eastern U.S. (Region 2) Canada (Region 7)
Southeastern U.S. (Region 3) Europe, Middle East & Africa (Region 8)

Society Chapters

A chapter is the technical subunit of one or more IEEE sections. Society chapters are your local link to the valuable resources available from the IEEE and its 39 technical societies. Chapter activities may include guest speakers, workshops, and seminars as well as social functions. Chapters provide society members with valuable opportunities to network at a local level - enabling both personal and professional growth.
