IEEE MGA Center for Leadership Excellence

The IEEE Meeting and Geographic Activities Center for Leadership Excellence (MGA CLE) is being created to meet the needs of IEEE members and volunteers. 

When fully operational, it will serve as the repository for all leadership training material within IEEE to ensure IEEE keeps pace with its evolving organization.  Additionally, it will meet the needs of IEEE volunteer leadership by providing materials that will enable volunteers to accomplish their jobs efficiently and effectively; thus allowing them to spend more time ensuring that members are engaged in IEEE activities so that IEEE member satisfaction and relevance continue to grow.

Development of the MGA CLE has been divided into 3 phases:

Phase 1 - Creation of IEEE Quick Start Volunteer Leadership Training .  This training assumes you have been recently elected to a Geographic Unit position and want to quickly learn the basics of your position.  This initial release of training material will concentrate on developing material for Section officer positions.  Expected completion date is November 2009.

Phase 2 - Expansion of the IEEE Quick Start Volunteer Leadership Training .  This is the development of training material for additional IEEE positions and the expansion of material currently available as part of Phase 1.  Expected completion date is November 2010.

Phase 3 - IEEE Leadership Training .  Still under development, the material provided in this phase will be available to all IEEE members and will include a series of engaging and highly interactive online learning courses to compliment the technical material currently available in IEEE Expert Now.  This course material will focus on non-technical topics not currently available in IEEE Expert Now.  Expected completion date is November 2011.
