IEEE Save the Earth Game Contest

The IEEE Committee on Earth Observation (ICEO) and other world-class sponsors,  have launched "SaveEarthGame," in two segments.  The rules and contest information are found at www.saveearthgame.org/.

1st Way to Win: The Game Idea Contest.  The entry period for Content 1 is now closed and all entries have been received. Entries provided an idea for a computer game to show how using earth observations can make the world a better place.

2nd Way to Win: The Playable game Design Competition

• The timing for the proposal phase of this contest is being adjusted and will be finalized with the rules, in early May 2009.
• Ages 13 and up, for advanced game developers or team entry
• Entry deadline for proposals, June 2009 (the timing of the proposal phase may be adjusted)
• Qualified finalists have until August 2010 to make and submit the playable game
• UPDATE: Rules to be posted in May 2009

Great Prizes!

• Game Idea Competition includes a Computer Game Workshop at DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington
• Playable Game Design Competition is a $20,000 (US) to the winner, plus an expense-paid trip to the GEO 2010 Summit.
