|
How did IEEE find you?
|
|
When I
was an undergraduate, my
Student Branch needed “new
blood”, and I signed on
as Branch Co-Chair. Later on when
I was a graduate student, my
work with the branch led to the position
of Region 7 Student Representative.
|
Describe something that you did as a
volunteer that you are proud of:
|
|
I am
proud to have been a part of
the organizing committee of IEMC 2005,
an IEEE EMS co-sponsored
conference held in Newfoundland in Fall
2005. For a small
Section, we had a great base of
volunteers and a wonderful conference!
|
How has IEEE nurture you as a person?
|
|
IEEE has
allowed me to learn organization and
leadership within a “safe”
environment, and I can take these skills
to my professional and
personal life.
|
How has IEEE prepared you for your workplace?
|
|
The IEEE
exposure I got while in the Student
Branch gave me an insight into
how engineering colleagues communicate,
how projects are planned and
run successfully, and how to be part of
a team.
|
What do you like most about
volunteering with IEEE?
|
|
I enjoy meeting and working
with fellow volunteers, the networking
that happens there.
|
What wouldn't be possible for you, if
you hadn't volunteer for IEEE?
|
|
I would not have the same
network of friends and colleagues if I
had not become an IEEE volunteer.
I may not have had the same
chance to learn from more experienced
professionals if I did not
have the opportunity to work with them
through IEEE.
