Reduced Dues for Recent Graduate to Member Grade
IEEE Student members who graduate and are elevated to full IEEE membership, will automatically receive a one-year discount of 50% off of the full higher grade IEEE and Society membership dues rates upon renewal. The offer is available once to IEEE Student members upon their graduation and elevation to full higher IEEE membership. The discount is available to all IEEE Student members graduating with an undergraduate or graduate degree. |
Benefits special to Graduate Student Members
IEEE Graduate Student Members (GSM) will be entitled to the same benefits as Student Members, but will also be able to vote in IEEE elections and to hold volunteer offices previously restricted to Member grade or higher. Individuals who are assigned the Graduate Student Member grade must meet the same qualifications required to achieve Member grade. Generally that means they will need to have a baccalaureate (or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution, and must also be a student carrying at least 50 percent of a normal full-time academic program as a registered graduate student in a regular course of study. The combined total for which an individual can hold the Student and/or Graduate Student Member grade is a maximum of eight years. GSMs, upon their graduation or upon reaching the eight-year limit, whichever comes first, will be automatically elevated to Member grade. |
