How did IEEE find you?
|
| When I applied to be
student editor of IEEE Potentials in
2002...the rest is history.
|
Describe something that you did as a
volunteer that you are proud of:
|
| I edited IEEE Women
in Engineering's email newsletter last year,
and worked hard to make it fun and
interesting.
|
How has IEEE nurtured you as a person?
|
| Meeting people from
all over the world is an enriching
experience.
|
How has IEEE prepared you for your workplace?
|
| Since I want to be a
professor, all the editing, reviewing, and
committee work is great preparation for my
career. It's been very
helpful to serve on committees with
professors from several
universities all over the world.
|
What do you find unique about IEEE?
|
| Its size and
diversity, which ensure that there's
something for every technical or
professional interest imaginable.
|
Does volunteering help you to achieve
your aspirations?
|
|
It's an
important part of my chosen profession
-- good thing it's so much fun!
|
An IEEE friend who left an inspiring
impression on you.
|
|
Darrel
Chong is the most dedicated
volunteer I've ever met, and shows that
one person can do great things
in this organization with a positive
attitude and some hard work.
Adrian Pais is spending a year
volunteering in Zambia and still finds
time to come to meetings and
edit the GOLD newsletter, which is amazing!
