Initiating GOLD Activities In Your Section

In order to facilitate or "quick start" GOLD activities in your Section, Society or Chapter, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board GOLD Committee is offering a base funding amount of $200US. This funding program is available to GOLD groups only after they have officially formed an IEEE GOLD Affinity Group. Funds are available for GOLD Affinity Groups on a one-time-only basis. If you have not formed the Affinity Group, the forms are available on the web. In order to obtain the funds, the IEEE MGA GOLD Committee requests you complete the QSIF Form with the following information. An example of a QSIF submitted by the IEEE Germany Section is linked for review of style and content. A proposal from your Section, Society or Chapter GOLD group outlining the activities which will be pursued and how the monies will be spent. This proposal will help confirm your commitment to initiate a GOLD activity. The proposal needs to provide
The proposal will be presented to the GOLD QSIF subcommittee for review and approval. We encourage all proposals to be submitted electronically to gold@ieee.org . This will expedite the process and we can provide you with an answer in two weeks. Proposals sent in hard copy can be sent to: IEEE Member and Geographic Activities - GOLD QSIF Proposal 445 Hoes Lane Piscataway, NJ 08854 USA The Section or Chapter will also be expected to determine the correct programs for their GOLD members by involving GOLD members in the process. Acceptable approaches include GOLD member surveys and/or using a focus group made up of graduating students and recently graduated members. The goal is to involve those who can provide feedback on issues such as the expectations of students and recent graduates from IEEE at the local level. |
