IEEE Volunteer Position/s 2007
Region 10 GOLD Coordinator
How did IEEE find you?
I was recruited by my
professor through student activity
programs.
Describe something that you did as a
volunteer that you are proud of:
In 2006, I served the first
Region 10 GOLD Congress in Beijing as
the congress chair. The first R10
GOLD Congress was
successfully organized and ran in
parallel with the Student
Congress.
How has IEEE nurtured you as a person?
IEEE nurtures leadership
training at the inter-regional
level for me.
How has IEEE prepared you for your workplace?
For my workplace, IEEE
prepares educational programs and ideas
for young professional
engineers including students.
What do you like most about
volunteering with IEEE?
I like leadership
training programs through
inter-regional level
activities.
What wouldn't be possible for you, if
you hadn't volunteered
for IEEE
Without my involvement with
the IEEE, it wouldn’t have been
possible for me to have a global view as
a young professional
engineer.
What do you find unique about IEEE?
There are many programs for
young professional engineers (including
students) to become a full member.
Becoming an IEEE volunteer can
be a gratifying and memorable
experience.
Why did you continue volunteering?
I would like to have not
only technical career building but also
focus on non-technical skills.
Additionally, I need to study
leadership.
Does volunteering help you to achieve
your aspirations?
Yes, volunteering in IEEE
activities has been a great
experience in my life.
