Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Scholarship

Description

Recognizes active leaders in the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapters who show promise in their academic and professional efforts.  This scholarship is funded by the IEEE Computer Society.


Prize

Up to Ten $4,000 scholarships are available for one academic year (9 months) starting in September and paid in four installments.


Eligibility

  • Full-time graduate students
  • Juniors and Seniors in:
    • electrical engineering
    • computer engineering
    • computer science, or
    •  well-defined computer related field who are active members of the Computer Society Student Branch Chapter at their institution.
  • Minimum overall grade point average should be 2.5.

Basis for Judging

  • Involvement in Branch Chapter activities (counts 40%)
  • Academic achievement (counts 30%)
  • Other extracurricular activities in college (counts 10%),
  • Letter of evaluation by Branch Chapter Advisor (counts 20%).

Deadline

 31 May (annually)
