IEEE Information Drives Computer Hardware Patents

Studies conducted by the independent research organization 1790 Analytics have shown that IEEE publications lead as the top scientific-technical source of patent citations in computer hardware – 36% of all patent citations, versus just 7% for the number-two organization, ACM.

Looking at the broader period of 1983 to 2003, an earlier study illustrates that 43.4% of all computer hardware patents referenced IEEE publications – more than 8 times than that of any other publisher.
