The IEEE Plagiarism Guidelines
A Practical Tool for All Volunteers

The IEEE Intellectual Property Rights Office is pleased to announce the release of a new IEEE.tv program entitled "The IEEE Plagiarism Guidelines: A Practical Tool for All Volunteers." The program is a co-production of the IPR Office and IEEE.tv, and introduces IEEE volunteers and authors to the Plagiarism Guidelines as a helpful tool for understanding, reviewing and responding to complaints of alleged plagiarism.

The program offers clear a description of plagiarism and straightforward advice on the proper handling of this sensitive subject, and encourages volunteers who are responsible for any IEEE publication to use the Guidelines when these complaints are received.  The program also features an extensive interview with IEEE Life Fellow Pete Morley, who provides a first-hand account of how the Guidelines were created, and discusses their success in resolving plagiarism cases fairly and consistently across all of IEEE's Societies.
