The IEEE Data Projector Lending Program is supported within the IEEE community through the various Organizational Units (OUs) who wish to 'lend' their machines to the program to take advantage of full utilization of their equipment.
What we discovered in our research is that some OUs have previously purchased projectors for their specific use. These numbers have varied and we have found that they are not fully utilized and often, sit idle for a good portion of the year in a supply closet, under someone's desk, or stored in the warehouse.
By rolling your projector into the program, you are able to take advantage of having a centralized area maintain your machines (inventory of parts) and handle all shipping arrangements on your behalf.
Meeting Planning Services collects a nominal rental fee of $150 to cover the costs of administration of the program, purchase of any replacement parts and spare bulbs, and maintenance of the equipment.
How it works
The goal is to provide all of the benefits of renting (tracking/delivery services, maintenance and backup equipment), while allowing you to save money by using you own machine.
We will store your equipment, maintain it, and distribute it. And in return, you agree to allow your equipment to be part of the Lending Library of projectors for use within the IEEE Community. And, for each time your projector is rented, you will receive part of the rental dollars collected from its rental. Not only are you fully utilizing your purchased equipment, you will also receive a portion of the monies collected.
Steps:
- Send your projectors to Meeting Planning Services
- We will label and test the units and pack them
- When you need the projector, order it like you would a rental unit
- We ship, track, confirm delivery and keep you notified every step.
- When done, you return it on our pre-made airway bill in the original packaging
- Once back, the projector is checked over closely and you are notified of any required maintenance
