The June Meeting Series customized Companion Program takes full advantage of the local historical and cultural attractions; and was developed exclusively for the IEEE. We have planned an exciting and interesting itinerary, made up of some of Denvers' “must-do” activities.  We hope you will join us as we explore what Denver has to offer.

The Companion tours have been cancelled due to lack of attendance.  There will be no Companion program during the IEEE June Meeting Series.

In the event a tour is cancelled due to lack of participation, your credit card will be refunded the full amount of that tour. Cancellations by the attendee will be subject to a $5.00 per credit card processing fee.

The deadline to sign up for tours is Monday, 9 June 2008

All tour attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Companion Breakfast (incorporated with the IEEE Breakfast)
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Located in Grand Ballroom on the second floor of the hotel.
The breakfast will have reserved tables for the companions to socialize and discuss the tours being offered with a Meeting Planning Services representative.


Denver Botanic Gardens 

June is one of the prettiest months to be in Denver, and the Botanic Gardens are a wonderful place to experience the beauty that nature has to offer.  The Denver gardens are among the top-ranked Botanic Gardens in the U.S.  You will have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour, which will teach you about the current plants in bloom, the special trees, and the history of the gardens.

Denver Botanic Gardens was one of the first gardens in the country to emphasize native plants and to champion environmentally responsible practices, such as water conservation and biological control of pests.

The Gardens are consistently rated one of the must-see attractions in Denver.  Sites include a huge tropical house and library, and Japanese, Chinese, and Mediterranean gardens.  There is also a café and espresso shop located within the gardens.

The price includes admission, transportation, a guided tour, and all gratuities.  Lunch can be purchased from the café onsite.

Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory Tour 

Join us for a unique, fun, and educational tour of one of the most advanced tea factories in the U.S.  Discover how tea is made on a guided tour that includes a video, a walk through the Celestial Herb Garden, a tour of the tea bag factory and a visit to the aromatic Mint Room.  At the end of your tour you will have the opportunity to visit the sampling room to try out free samples of all the tea flavors.

After the tour you can visit the Tea Shop where you’ll find every flavor of your favorite Celestial Seasonings products as well as a wide variety of gift items. They also feature a selection of healthful foods and personal care products from The Hain Celestial Group family of brands.  Lunch is available for purchase in the onsite café.

The price includes admission, transportation, a guided tour, and all gratuities.  Lunch can be purchased from the café onsite.

Note the factory is approximately a one hour drive from the hotel.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science  

Spend the day exploring some of the wonders of the universe.  The Denver Museum of Nature and Science hosts exhibits on dinosaurs, the human body, Native American culture, gems, space, Egyptian mummies and much more!

One of the top-rated attractions in Denver, the museum offers a fun way to spend the day and maybe learn a little bit as well.   You will have the opportunity to explore the museum at your own pace, spending the most time at the exhibits that interest you the most.  Also included in the price of your ticket is the 1:00 pm showing of “Alaska” at the IMAX movie theater.  It is part of a festival highlighting the most popular and memorable IMAX movies ever created.

The facility also offers some of the best views in Denver. The Anschutz Family Sky Terrace is open year-round, weather permitting, and offers magnificent views of City Park, the Denver skyline, and the Rocky Mountains.

The price includes admission, transportation, and all gratuities.  Lunch can be purchased from the café onsite.
