Los Angeles provides venues for meeting celebrities, shopping, and spending time at the beach.

Sites in Los Angeles

Rodeo Drive/Downtown Beverly Hills
Known as "the golden triangle" this is the heart of shopping, galleries, and fine dining in Beverly Hills. A 5 minute drive or 1 1/2 mile walk.

Santa Monica Pier
Built in 1908 for passenger and cargo ships, the Santa Monica Pier recaptures the glory days of Southern California. The wooden wharf is now home to seafood restaurants and snack shacks, a touristy Mexican cantina, a gaily colored turn-of-the-20th-century indoor wooden carousel (which Paul Newman operated in The Sting), and an aquarium filled with sharks, rays, octopus, eels, and other local sea life.
The pier is about a mile up Ocean Front Walk from Venice; it's a great round-trip stroll.

Third Street Promenade
Three blocks of pedestrian only shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters and street performers in Santa Monica. Only three blocks from the beach. A 20 minute drive or accessible by Santa Monica Bus #5.

Mann's Chinese Theater/Downtown Hollywood
The Chinese Theater, which is undoubtedly the most famous theater in the world, opened in 1927 with the premiere of Cecil B. DeMille's King of Kings. Its courtyard includes the hand and footprints of almost 200 Hollywood legends, as well as the "walk of fame" where you can find your favorite star's star in the sidewalk.

Petersen Automotive Museum
One of the world's largest collection of cars. See everything from vintage classics to your favorite cars from television and movies.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art
With more than 100,000 pieces of art in its collection, this is the largest encyclopedic museum west of Chicago. View European masterpieces, contemporary art, art from the United States and Latin America, an Islamic art collection, a comprehensive Korean art collection and the Pavilion for Japanese art.

The Getty Center
Sitting in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, this 110-acre complex includes a museum, research complex and conservation institute. The museum galleries are housed in five connected pavilions, each with a different collection focusing on European drawings, paintings, sculpture, illustrated manuscripts and decorative arts, as well as European and American photography.

Sony Studios
The location of the original MGM studios. They offer walking tours Monday through Friday. Reservations are necessary and space is limited.

Westfield Shoppingtown, Century City
Adjacent to the hotel, this open air mall boasts over 150 fine shops, an extensive food court, 14 movie theaters and is anchored by Macy's and Bloomingdale's.
