PURPOSE

To honor an individual, who over a long and sustained period of leadership contributed in an exemplary manner to the Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGA Board), its activities and achievements and the attainment of its goals and objectives.  The accomplishments of the candidate should be of "significant performance," and have made a distinguishing contribution to IEEE.

The award is named for William W. Middleton, who for over thirty years has been associated with and contributed to the growth and maturation of RAB through service on it and its various Committees and Task Forces and was chosen to be the first recipient.

AWARD
The award consists of a specially engraved plaque emphasizing the scope of the Member and Geographic Activities Network and bearing the signature of the IEEE Vice President - Member and Geographic Activities. Candidates for this award will be considered tri-annually by the MGA Awards & Recognition Committee and a selection will be recommended to MGA Board when warranted.

SELECTION COMMITTEE
The MGA ARC Chairman will appoint a subcommittee of MGA ARC, consisting of a minimum of three Past Regional Directors.

FREQUENCY
Every three years, starting in 1990

AWARD INSTRUMENT
Plaque and certificate suitably inscribed, attesting to the accomplishment(s) made by the individual(s) and a cash prize.

PRESENTATION
Made by the Vice President for Member and Geographic Activities (or his designee) at a Sections Congress or at an appropriate IEEE activity selected by the recipient. 

AWARD DEADLINE - The deadline for submission of nominations is 31 May 2008.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

1. Complete the one-page nomination form PDF (PDF, 11 KB) or use the online form
2. Sign the nomination form.
3. Have two members prepare letters of endorsement.
4. Have endorsers sign the nomination form.
5. Mail nomination package (include endorsements) to Member and Geographic Activities Department.
