Call for Sections Congress 2008 Speakers

The Sections Congress 2008 Program Committee is now accepting nominations for session speakers. SC 2008 will be held 19 – 22 September 2008 at the Quebec City Convention Center in Quebec City, Canada. The theme of the event is "Celebrating Volunteer Achievements Worldwide". The three program tracks are: Membership; Section Management; and Section/Chapter Activities.

Membership – Membership is a core value of IEEE. The breakout sessions in this track will focus on how Geographic Units can engage the member at the local level such that the value of their membership increases. Additionally sessions will focus on the recruitment and retention of IEEE members.
Section Operations - A Section is the basis of the focus of all local activities. The breakout sessions in this track will provide information on obtaining support and resources from the IEEE organization and the best practices for having a successful section.’
Section/Chapter Activities - The success of the IEEE is dependent on the continued cooperation between Geographic Units on the local level. The breakout sessions in this track will focus on how to promote and facilitate the delivery of technical, professional and educational material.

Each submission allows for three speaker nominations. If you'd like to submit more speaker nominations, please submit another form. The deadline for submitting speaker nominations is 1 November 2007.

Please note that sponsors or funding support should also be identified at the time the speaker is nominated. If no funding support is immediately identifiable for a particular speaker, the nomination may still be submitted, as sponsorship may be identified at a later time. Session descriptions from SC05 are available as reference. The sessions descriptions for SC08 will be finalized as the SC08 Speakers are identified.
