The HTC invites individuals and organizations
interested in finding solutions for some of
humanity’s urgent needs to join the endeavor.
The HTC needs a broad range of participants
because of foreseeable ground-breaking advances
in, and applications of, humanitarian technologies
that will best result from the combined efforts of
many. They include humanitarians, technologists,
students, government agencies, non-governmental
organizations, corporations, and other product
developers. The HTC is also seeking the
support of foundations and other potential
financial resources.
Here are some of the ways that individuals and
organizations can participate.
-
Non-Governmental Organizations
– Provide more input on problem
definition and review potential solutions,
especially regarding implementation and
sustainability.
-
IEEE members – Through their
societies, councils, and geographic units,
offer solutions for the defined challenges.
-
Other technologists – Offer ideas,
and if already active in humanitarian
activities, offer information on obstacles,
past experiences, and keys to success.
-
Government agencies – Help define
acceptable boundaries of solutions, given
policy, and social constraints.
-
Other funders, including foundations
– Offer insights on solutions that are
economically attractive to launch.
-
Corporations, and other product
developers – Help define product and
financial issues affecting production and
solution deployment.
