IEEE Islands in Second Life

 Featured: The IEEE.tv Tower

IEEE TV Tower in Second Life

Situated at the center of IEEE Island 1, the IEEE.tv Tower houses four multimedia theaters.

Each theater provides to Second Life residents on-demand viewing of select IEEE.tv programming.

 Help Develop the Islands

Opportunities to help develop the IEEE islands are open to IEEE staff, volunteer and member groups. If you'd like to participate, please contact the IEEE Second Life Team.

Island 1 development completed:

  • IEEE.tv Tower
    • IEEE.tv episodes can be viewed in four separate theaters
  • IEEE Sandbox
    • Allows avatars to practice their building, scripting, and texture work
    • Area open to all visitors of IEEE Island
    • Developers resources area provided as a learning resource on building, texturing and scripting
  • IEEE Amphitheatre
    • Common area for large presentations and movies
  • IEEE Informational "pods"
    • Area for staffers and specific sections of the IEEE to advertise and promote their activities within the organization.
  • IEEE Telehub
    • Starting location of IEEE Islands
    • Tutorial information provided on how to navigate Second Life

Island 1 development in process:

  • Staff Pod Content
