Information for New and Continuing Society and Council Presidents

Dear Society and Council (S/C) Presidents,

NOTE: This is a pilot project to assist incoming S/C Presidents. Notices and resources will continue to be added and your comments on how to make this resource more user-friendly are greatly welcome.

This webpage was created to give you a preview of the messages and requests you will receive during your term as a S/C President. It was created by Technical Activities Department (TAD) staff as a resource for you to use throughout the year. The documents attached below are SAMPLES of the requests you will receive. You will receive notices regarding the following S/C Appointments:

You MUST appoint a Fellow Evaluating Committee Chair (DOC, 72KB) [Reply due 31 Jan]
You MAY appoint Corresponding Members to a number of TAB committees (DOC, 30KB) [Reply due 15 Jan]
You MAY appoint a Society representative to the IEEE Council(s) for which your Society is a member (DOC, 42KB)
You MAY appoint a S/C representative to the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology
You MAY appoint a Society liaison to IEEE Women In Engineering (DOC, 44KB)

As a TAB Member you may receive the following announcements:

TAB and a number of TAB committees meet three times a year (in Feb, Jun and Nov) during the IEEE Organizational Unit series. The Announcement/Call For Notice for the next meeting series and Guidelines for Agenda Item Submission are available online.
Thirty days prior to a TAB meeting you will receive notice of any revisions to the TAB Operations Manual and all periodicals proposals (if any). They will also be included on the TAB agenda.
