How does the use of “cookies" affect my IEEE Web Account?

Cookies are small files that stay on your computer so that the system remembers who you are and your personal preferences. Cookies are used by most major Web sites. They are not used to collect personally identifiable information. The IEEE does not sell or otherwise share any individually identifiable information to third parties.

You may set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are sent. Please note that refusing cookies will limit some custom features and will prevent you from using IEEE Web Account Registration, Change Password, Recovery of Username and Password, and Change of Security Identifier services.

It is IEEE policy that cookies not carry any of your personal information (name, e-mail address, credit card information, etc.) nor identification or password-type data that allows access to such personal information on IEEE servers.
