Managing your personal profile
Your personal profile allows you to easily update your email, phone number, biography, and more, all in one location. There you will also find your member number, membership status, Region, membership grade, and grade status.
To manage your personal profile, follow the steps below.
- Log in to the My Account section of the IEEE Shop using your IEEE Web Account.
- Click "Personal Profile" on the left side of the page.
- Select "Edit" on the top of the page.
- Update your information.
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the page and your changes will be reflected.
To change your email address:
- Log in to the My Account section of the IEEE Shop using your IEEE Web Account.
- Click on "Change Email Address" on the right of the page. Your Personal Profile page will present.
- Delete your current email address in the text box and add a new one.
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the page and your changes will be reflected.
Adding additional email addresses
To add additional email addresses:
- Log in to the My Account section of the IEEE Shop using your IEEE Web Account.
- Click on "Change Email Address" on the right of the page. Your Personal Profile page will present.
- Click the arrow box to the right of "Additional Email Addresses," and select "New."
- Enter address, specify usage and click "Save."
- Click "OK" to close menu.
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the Personal Profile page and your changes will be reflected.
The country code is the one-, two-, or three-digit prefix to be associated with an international call.
By selecting the interests that you feel represent you professionally, you are helping IEEE develop programs and services to better serve the advancement of the field. In addition, IEEE uses this information to personalize services and understand the needs of membership.
To indicate your business and technology interests, select the arrow box. Select "New" and follow the prompts. Business Interests are presented in a menu. Select as many as you want, one at a time. Click "Save."
Your professional biography should give a brief description of what you have done, what you are doing, and the kinds of things you are interested in.
Managing your communication preferences
Your communication preferences indicate in which manner you would like IEEE to contact you. You may change your preferred contact method by choosing a selection from the drop-down menu.
On this page you may also indicate if there are methods by which you would rather NOT be contacted by IEEE. Simply check the boxes as you update the page.
To manage your communications preferences, follow the steps below.
- Log in to the My Account section of the IEEE Shop using your IEEE Web Account.
- Click "Communications Preferences" on the left side of the page.
- Select "Edit" on the top of the page.
- Update your information.
- Approve these changes by selecting the electronic signature checkbox at the bottom of the page.
- Click "Save" and your changes will be reflected.
IEEE allows carefully selected organizations (third parties) to mail relevant information on technical services, continuing education, and conferences to IEEE members to supplement member dues. Follow the prompts in My Communications Preferences section of My Account in the IEEE Shop to indicate whether or not you wish to be included in such mailings.
IEEE or an IEEE Society may produce a printed membership directory. All IEEE members are automatically included with name and membership grade. Follow the prompts in Communications Preferences to indicate whether you wish to include additional contact information in the directory. This may grant you a greater professional networking capacity.
IEEE Annual Election preferences (members only)
All eligible voting members have access to the IEEE candidate election booklet online. In Communication Preferences, you may elect to receive the print booklet or to opt-out of email notifications regarding IEEE elections.
You will be prompted to approve changes to Communications Preferences via the electronic signature check at the bottom of the page. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page and your changes will be reflected.
