2009 IEEE Medal of Honor Recipient Robert H. Dennard to Receive 2009 Charles Stark Draper Prize

11 February – 2009 IEEE Medal of Honor recipient and IEEE Fellow Robert H. Dennard will be presented with the Charles Stark Draper Prize from the National Academy of Engineering during National Engineers Week, 18-24 February.  Recognized as one of the world's preeminent awards for engineering achievement, the Charles Stark Draper Prize honors an engineer whose accomplishment has significantly impacted society by improving the quality of life, providing the ability to live freely and comfortably, and/or permitting the access to information.

Similar to his IEEE Medal of Honor citation, Dennard is being recognized for “his invention and contributions to the development of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM), used universally in computers and other data processing and communication systems.”
