IEEE Journals Continue to Excel in Citation Ranking
30 June 2017 – IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing Technology for humanity, has maintained its position as one of the top publishers of science and technology journals. The Journal Citation Reports® (JCR) from Clarivate Analytics examines the influence and impact of scholarly research journals. JCR reveals the relationship between citing and cited journals, offering a systematic, objective means to evaluate the world’s leading journals. According to the 2016 Journal Citation Reports released in June 2017, IEEE journals sustained their status as premier scholarly publications, earning high rankings in the Journal Impact Factor report.

The report also found that IEEE publishes the top ten journals in the Telecommunications category and eight of the top ten journals in the Electrical & Electronic Engineering category based on the Eigenfactor score, a scale that measures the number of times articles from a journal are published in the last five years.
The 2017 edition of Journal Citation Reports includes more than 11,000 of the world's most cited, peer-reviewed journals listed in 236 disciplines and provides a combination of impact and influence metrics from 2016 data, as well as millions of cited and citing journal data points that comprise the complete journal citation network of Web of Science.
