Network Science, IEEE Computer Society Task Force on
The IEEE Computer Society Task Force on Network Science (TFNS) focuses on technologies that will develop network science for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Network Science develops and exploits complex networks encountered in ICT, and predicts their behavior. It is an interdisciplinary pursuit using formal, scientific methods, and draws ideas and technology from the physical sciences, mathematics, the social and cognitive domains, bio-inspired technology, and neuroscience. The results affect delivery and sharing of information in a broad spectrum of applications. These impact every aspect of human existence in developed societies that depend on ICT for ordinary interactions and functionality of critical infrastructure and key resources.
