The IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Nominations and Appointments (N&A) Committee is seeking candidates to serve on the MGA Board and MGA Committees in 2017. Below is a list of available 2017 MGA positions.
A general position description for an MGA standing committee chair is available below. Specific committee chair and member position descriptions will be posted as they become available.
The MGA Mission and Vision and desired common characteristics and common skills are also noted below.
In order to give the MGA N&A Committee an opportunity to prepare and distribute the slate of candidates, please adhere to the nomination deadlines:
You will be directed to an online portal. Follow the instructions provided within the portal to submit your nomination.Note: To be eligible to be a Chair or a voting member of any MGA Committee, except the Student Activities Committee, the individual must be a member in good standing and shall be at IEEE Graduate Student Member, Member, Senior Member, or Fellow grade. MGA Board members (VP-MGA, Treasurer, Vice Chairs), the Chair and members of the IEEE Admission and Advancement Committee, and the Chair of the MGA Awards and Recognition Committee shall be at IEEE Senior Member or Fellow grade.
** During the February 2016 IEEE Meeting Series, the MGA Board and IEEE Board of Directors approved the establishment of the position of MGA Vice President-Elect/MGA Board Chair-Elect. Beginning in 2017, the MGA Chair, Chair-Elect, and Past Chair will serve one-year terms. In November 2016, the IEEE Assembly will elect the 2017 VP-MGA and 2018 VP-MGA (who will serve as VP-Elect in 2017).
